Convocation
The 天涯社区 holds three convocations each year: Winter Convocation in March, Spring Convocation in June and Fall Convocation in November.
Convocation is the formal process where your degree is conferred. Students must complete their degree requirements and apply for convocation by the dates indicated in the .
Convocation ceremonies are administered by the Office of the Registrar. Convocation events may also be held at the faculty-level.
Orientation
Graduate students typically have two orientation events: a broad orientation event for all UAlberta students, and a departmental or school-level orientation for your program.
The School hosts an orientation event for new and current MLIS students shortly before the beginning of Fall term. This is an online event, and both on-campus and online students can attend. Students will be notified of the orientation event via the SLIS student listservs.
Students may also participate in other orientation events, such as those organized by the .
