Parkinson's Disease Research - Seed Grants
Purpose
The Neuroscience and Mental Health Institute (NMHI) is pleased to announce a seed grant competition to support Parkinson's disease research. This competition will support research to generate preliminary data or pilot data with the expectation that it will be used for future applications to CIHR.
Funding is available for two grants of $40,000 each
Objective
To support emerging research in Parkinson's disease
Eligibility + Application Criteria
- A maximum of one application per Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) is permitted.
- The PI must hold a full-time academic appointment at the 天涯社区 and be a member of the NMHI.
- Grants are administered through the 天涯社区 only. A Research Administrative Services (RAS) research project number (RES Project ID) is not needed to apply. Institutional sponsorship will only be required for applications offered funding.

- Title and abstract (maximum 200 words)
- Research proposal (maximum 3 pages)
- Lay summary (maximum 0.5 page)
- Figures, charts and graphs (maximum 1 page)
- References (maximum 1 page)
- Budget/budget justification (maximum 1 page)
- Condensed CVs (3 pages) from PI, Co-PIs, and co-investigators
- List of 3 potential reviewers external to the UofA with whom there are no conflicts of interest
Budget + Period of Support
Funding requests are limited to a maximum of $40,000 for one year.
Additional Criteria
A final report must be submitted within one month of the award end date.
Publications should recognize the support of the Neuroscience and Mental Health Institute and the Neuroscience and Mental Health Institute should be listed as an affiliation.
